In our final piece to mark Apprenticeship Week, Robert, who now works for us as IT Support, shares his experience of our apprenticeship scheme:
“As an apprentice, I think I had the best of both worlds: benefiting from all the practical experience – and a salary – that comes with a job whilst being able to study towards a recognised qualification, too.
“I had so much support from colleagues from the moment I started my hands-on learning and studying, which helped enormously. Working as part of a team taught me so much more than the academic skills of my trade and I think I’ve grown in confidence, as well as ability, because of that.
“I was delighted to be offered a full-time role with the charity once I’d completed my apprenticeship and now, two years later, I’m often sought out by colleagues for my expertise in certain areas and feel I’m a highly valued member of the team.
“I’d recommend an apprenticeship with St Cuthbert’s Care any day; it’s a great way to start your career.”
We have vacancies for apprentices in health and social care. To find out more, visit https://www.stcuthbertscarejobs.org.uk/apprenticeships or call our HR Officer, Grace, on 07840 015784.
