We love making sure our nursing home residents feel extra special and know exactly what’s at the top of their list of favourite indulgences.
For residents in our St Catherine’s nursing home in Newcastle, staying in really is the new going out when we lay on afternoon tea in our very own cosy café.
It’s a great excuse to get out the best china, serve some home-made treats and spend a little time chatting together with a neighbouring resident over a freshly-brewed cuppa.
“Our café reminds me of some of the lovely tea rooms I used to visit,” said resident, Selma, “and I don’t even have to get on a bus to get there!”
For residents at our Holy Cross nursing home in Sunderland, their feel-good favourite is whenever our staff turn their activities room into a spa.
With lockdown affecting our residents’ usual hairdressing and pamper visits, our staff have turned their hand to hair styling and spa treatments to keep everyone feeling and looking their best.
“They do it so well that I never want it to come to an end,” said resident, Fr Bob
