Bright and colourful thanks from Cleaswell Hill

Students from Cleaswell Hill School in Stakeford were so thrilled to be invited to our Hub@Parkhead’s first community coffee morning that they turned to their artistic talents to express their thanks.

Our specialist day centre for adults with disabilities in Ashington threw open their doors to welcome the students and the wider community to the coffee morning where our members served refreshments and their home baked goodies.

After the event, colourful cards filled with handwritten messages arrived at the Hub to the absolute delight of our members. And the students gave a massive thumbs up to the taster sessions they had shared over recent months with our members, too:

“My favourite part was the darts”, wrote Archie; “My favourite part was the cooking” wrote Zak; and Sophie wrote: “I can’t wait to meet you all on the next trip”.

“We’ve been delighted to welcome students from Cleaswell Hill to our taster sessions,” said Manager, Claire. “Learning about the variety of skills sessions and activities we offer here at the Hub helps to raise awareness among the students who are ready to leave the school that we have a wealth of opportunities available to them.”
