Children’s conference helps achieve best for young people

In the week we marked Child Exploitation Awareness Day, Manager and Deputy Manager of our children’s home in Darlington have praised the value of attending this year’s Children in Care conference.

Hosted by Durham Police, the conference is one of only two held in the region and offers an opportunity to share information and best practice with a range of professionals working with children and young people in our region.

Some of the topics covered included diversity, equality and inclusion, children’s mental health and safeguarding.

“We were delighted to be able to attend,” said home manager, Amy. “Events like this are so important and highlight many of the ongoing successes and challenges care experienced children and young people face. Sharing knowledge with others working in the same profession means we are able to develop best practices for our services and deliver the best outcomes for our young people.”
