As temperatures continue to struggle, our charity has been out spreading warmth and joy with a donation of sleeping bags for local people who are homeless.
The cosy sleeping bags have been donated to Joe’s Place in Gateshead, which provides warmth, shelter, a hot meal, refreshments and other support to people who are homeless or are struggling to provide for themselves.
“Through our close links with Joe’s Place we learned that quite a few people were asking for sleeping bags as temperatures continued to fall below freezing,” said Marketing Manager, Nicola Milne. “We were only too happy to help and it was a joy to visit the project to deliver them personally and to see first-hand how much it is helping people in our community who need it most.”
Joe’s Place was set up with our support almost ten years ago and is run by a team of volunteers who regularly serve around 100 people from its base in St Joseph’s RC Church.
