Feeling good and keeping active with Mexican Day

Young people living in our Auton residential children’s home in Newcastle love a themed day – especially when it’s as colourful and expressive as their recent Mexican Day.

Being able to express how they feel is something our young people can find difficult, so it can be really helpful when they are able to do that together with a shared theme.

Joined by our staff team, our young people enjoyed everything from Salsa dancing to Salsa eating and dressed in the most expressive, colourful outfits they could find. – Even their doggy visitor joined in.

“We’re always looking out for new experiences that help everyone to feel good and keep busy – especially when we are following current government guidelines to stay at home,” said manager, Kerry. “Our Mexican Day certainly helped to chase away any winter blues!”
