Foster Care Fortnight

Today marks the start of Foster Care Fortnight and our charity’s Fostering North East team is pleased to support this annual campaign with their own appeal for new carers for the many children in need of a loving home.

Foster families, like any family, come in all shapes and sizes so, whether you are single, married, own a house or rent, are employed or unemployed, you could become a foster carer with us and start making a huge difference in a child’s life.

Or small, friendly fostering team work with you to make sure you are matched with children or young people that meet both your needs and those of the child and we offer training and 24 hour support every step of the way.

And there are different types of foster care for you to choose, too. Whether you feel able to offer long-term, short-term, respite foster care or are able to care for a parent and child – as long as you truly care we need your help.

“Every day we receive so many referrals for children and young people in need of foster care,” said Registered Manager with Fostering North East, Sheila Errington. “If you have a spare room in your house, plenty of love to give and feel you have what it takes to become one of our dedicated foster carers, why not ring us for an informal chat and find out more. We’d love to hear from you.”
