It’s a great time to join our team of volunteers

It’s Volunteer Week and we’re celebrating the many benefits our brilliant volunteers bring to people using our services.

Every Moment Matters is this year’s theme for Volunteer Week and there have already been many special moments shared for two of our volunteers, husband and wife David and Pauline, who spend invaluable time each week with our St Catherine’s nursing home residents.

“We have found volunteering to be even more fulfilling that we could imagine,” said Pauline. “We feel so privileged that residents enjoy sharing their stories and experiences with us – and it gets better with every visit.

“Volunteering has enriched our lives, made us happier humans and provided a few lovely surprises along the way.”

“Like chatting with Maurice,” continued David. “I not only found out that we shared a passion for art and Newcastle United, but my brother went to the same school as Maurice and I’d even played football as a youngster against Maurice’s school!”
