The theme of this year’s Foster Care Fortnight is ‘Fostering Moments’ which celebrates the many and varied defining moments on the fostering journey.

Our independent, not-for-profit agency, Fostering North East, regularly helps and supports our foster carers and children placed with them to share memorable times together through our YoungStars events – whether that be enjoying a trip to Beamish, popping along to a Christmas panto or getting together for a fun games afternoon.
Last year, our Senior Supervising Social Worker, Dan, even ran the Great North Run to raise additional funding for our YoungStars events. Already this has paid for a day out bowling and a trampoline experience.

“As a dad myself, there’s nothing better than seeing your kids happy and making positive memories for them,” said Dan. “I feel just as passionate about giving our fostered kids as many of those opportunities as possible, too.”

If you’d like to become one of our valued foster carers and help to create memorable moments for children who can’t live with their own families, our friendly Fostering North East team will be with you every step of the way.
