As the Queen enjoys her 91st birthday celebrations quietly at Windsor Palace today, one of our Parkhead Resource Centre regulars is enjoying a slightly more lively celebration of her own today.
Sharon, who is a long-standing visitor to our Parkhead Resource Centre for adults with learning disabilities in Ashington, is marking her birthday with friends and staff at the Centre today, but is happy to share the limelight with Her Majesty.
"As you can see from our photo, Sharon is enjoying some regal moments of her own," said manager, Claire Graham. "Once we'd made our Union Jack flags and crowns today, she couldn't wait to strike a royal pose for the camera!"
Celebrations will continue at Parkhead throughout the day and everyone is ready to enjoy a feast of specially-baked cakes – all fit for a queen, of course!
