We offer a variety of services to adults with learning disabilities in the North East; from supported living, residential care, short breaks and day activities.

Permanent Residential Home for People with Disabilities

The Flat has been designed specifically for the long term placement for people with emotional difficulties or learning disabilities. The Flat provides a permanent placement to develop, improve and maximise life experiences, gain independence whilst offering stability and support. The care and support is based on an assessment of needs and personal strengths.

Independent Supported Living

We support a number of adults with learning disabilities in Newcastle and Northumberland, enabling them to live as independently as possible, whilst remaining in their own homes. We offer a tailored service which encourages individuality, independent living and the exercise of choice.

Working with other professionals, we ensure that a person-centred approach is delivered in a sensitive and appropriate manner. We carefully tailor a support plan for each individual that offers them the right level of support for their needs, ambitions and aspirations and helps them to develop the life skills they need to maintain their independence, and gain confidence as full and equal members of the community.

Parkhead Resource Centre

The centre at Parkhead offers stimulating educational activities for adults with learning difficulties. Based in Ashington, it runs a wide range of activities, including day trips and excursions. Socialisation and community inclusion are central to the purpose of the service, and these help improve the self-esteem and confidence of those using it.

The Parkhead day centre is a partnership between St Cuthberts Care and Northumberland Care Trust. Attendance at the centre requires a referral from the Care Trust.
