Young people in our Auton residential children’s homes have been marking today’s global celebration of children in care by getting creative with their feelings and achievements.
Acknowledging Care Day, each young person in our home in Sunderland has chosen to make a poster featuring, in their own words, what being in care means to them, and showcasing their certificates and awards.
Although our young people have experienced incredibly difficult times, today’s Care Day gives an opportunity to bring together many of the positive things in their lives.
“Care Day is about the young people in our services and the great strides they are making to overcome adversity,” said Jody, our Director of Children’s Services. “Their journey with us allows them to feel loved and valued and we are privileged to watch each of them grow, develop and achieve their potential.”
