Thanks for sharing your time and talents

Our grounds and gardens at the Alan Shearer Centre have enjoyed a winter makeover thanks to a team of volunteers from the Newcastle United Foundation.

The volunteers are taking part in the Prince’s Trust initiative and have shared their time and talents to build a special run for our resident squirrels, plant some spring-flowering bulbs and spruce up our outdoor furniture as well as making a clean sweep of the autumn leaves across our one acre site.

Working with our gardener, Adrian, their regular visits mean our gardens are looking the best they can – even as winter approaches.

“Our members still love playing in our grounds during the winter months,” said Centre Manager, Jackie, “so it’s great to have the volunteers’ helping hands to keep everything looking good. We’ve received lots of lovely comments about the work they’ve been doing from our members and guests, too.”

A massive thank you and well done to everyone. We’re so excited about your next visit.
