Some of our St Catherine’s residents joined staff in the charity’s head office on the floor above their nursing home to enjoy a VIP lunch and a catch up for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
The special lunch paves the way for regular get-togethers to continue now that many of the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted and follows a series of afternoon tea treats in head office which had to stop when the pandemic struck.
Celebrating the return of the regular visits, our residents chose a lunch of fish and chips or quiche and salad, which was served with a glass of fruit fizz or, in Jim’s case, his favourite lager.
“I do enjoy a lager,” said Jim, “and it’s perfect with my fish and chips.”
After an enjoyable time sharing holiday experiences, laughter and reminiscences, our residents were ready to return to their cosy rooms for an afternoon nap before tea.
“I’ve had a lovely time with lovely company,” said Moira. “I’m already looking forward to the next time.”
