Our Purpose

Our Work

St Cuthbert’s Care is committed to helping improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our communities, including people with profound disabilities, children in care, older people and those living on the margins of society. Firmly rooted in the Catholic faith, our charity always has and always will place people at the heart of its work, from all denominations and none.

Some of our services are highly specialised, and as a charity, we are exceptionally proud to provide high-quality, person-centred care, support, and a safe refuge to some of the most challenging yet vulnerable people in our community; people in need that some other providers choose to turn away. This is extremely satisfying and rewarding for us, and for our staff. To fulfil our purpose: ‘Working for the common good by enabling people to develop to their full personal potential’, we engage and contract with a range of professional bodies and local authorities and work closely with churches, other charities and not-for-profit organisations as well as local communities.

We are a Living Wage employer – the first regional charity in the North East, delivering adult social care as part of our work, to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
