Our Story

Founded in 1946 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle to care for children displaced by World War II, we continue to adapt and develop to meet the needs of our communities.

Nursing Homes

Our nursing homes, St Catherine’s in Newcastle and Holy Cross in Sunderland, place compassion, dignity and respect at the heart of the outstanding care we provide.

Auton Services

For almost 80 years, we have provided life-changing care and support to children and young people who cannot live with their own families.

Fostering North East

Through our independent fostering agency, Fostering North East, we support carers to provide children and young people with safe, stable and loving family homes. Thinking of fostering? We’ll guide you every step of the way.
