Although the Queen is still in mourning, people living in our specialist residential home at the Alan Shearer Centre wanted to hold a special tea party in honour of Her Majesty’s 95th birthday.
The royal tea party began with a baking session which produced delicious home-made cheese and fruit scones to enjoy with a cup of tea.
And, as it was such a special gathering, residents Matthew and Rachel pulled out all the stops to make suitably regal crowns to wear, too.
“Thanks to the skills of Matthew and Rachel, our tea party was a very stately occasion,” said Alan Shearer recreation assistant, Heather.
