When given the choice of marking World Book Day or World Wildlife Day there was no question residents at St Catherine’s, our nursing home in Newcastle, would go for the animals.
“I just love animals,” said Selma. “Of course, I love books too but just not as much as animals.”
It was a little too chilly to head outside to look for wildlife in our beautiful grounds, so we spent the afternoon having fun with animal masks and watching David Attenborough programmes with a cup of tea and some animal shaped treats – maybe a tiger will come for tea.
“I’ve always thought of myself as a bit of a lioness.” Said Millie!
