Nic Gilbert
Chief Executive
Nic Gilbert joined St Cuthbert’s Care in 1996 as a Finance Assistant and was supported by the charity to complete his professional qualifications, becoming a Chartered Management Accountant.
He progressed to Finance Director, where he played a key role in strategic and operational decision-making, ensuring the charity’s financial health and driving sustainable growth.
Promoted to Chief Executive in 2023, Nic brings extensive knowledge and experience to guide St Cuthbert’s Care through sector-wide challenges while maintaining its commitment to outstanding care and support.
He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants for over 20 years and serves as Chair of Care North East.
Amanda Head
Director of Care and Deputy Chief Executive
Alongside our Chief Executive, Amanda embodies our purpose of enabling people to reach their full potential.
Since joining us in 2003 as a support worker, Amanda has worked across a number of our services in senior roles, including managing Holy Cross nursing home and leading our Independent Supported Living Services to achieve CQC outstanding.
In her current roles, Amanda helps shape the charity’s strategic direction and leads and inspires our care services to achieve excellence.
Gill Ennis
Director of Compliance and Nursing Homes
Gill’s experience across our charity’s services spans 35 years. As an invaluable member of the directorate, Gill plays a vital role in ensuring our exacting standards of care are maintained and manages risk to keep people safe.
Gill received the honour of being invited to the House of Lords in acknowledgement of her role in developing RoSPA’s Single-Handed Care qualification.
Jody Scott
Director of Children’s Services
Jody is a qualified social worker and has over 20 years’ experience with the charity. In addition to her role with the directorate, Jody led our team at Auton Sunderland residential children’s home to achieve an impressive eight consecutive ratings of Outstanding from Ofsted.
Jody also holds the role of Agency Decision Maker with our Fostering North East service, ensuring all decisions made meet legislative requirements and prioritise the welfare of the child.
