With their hand-made bush hats at the ready, residents living in our Holy Cross nursing home in Sunderland were well prepared for their trip around Australia – and they didn’t have to walk a step.
From the comfort of their armchairs, our residents enjoyed many of the sights and sounds of Australia in a virtual tour that left them feeling fair dinkum on top of the world.
“It was a great experience,” said Kathleen. “We went to the ‘outback’ and everyone loved seeing the koalas and kangaroos. It was a bit cooler seeing it all from our own home, too, I don’t think I could stand the heat of a real Australian experience.”
Let’s hope they managed to finish off their trip in true Oz style with one of their famed barbies.
