Basking in Bastille history

From period costume to chocolate eclairs, residents living in our St Catherine’s nursing home in Newcastle have thoroughly enjoyed their virtual trip to France to mark Bastille Day.

Accompanied by traditional accordion cafe music, our residents soaked up historical stories of fact and legend told by Activities’ Co-ordinator, Zaeley, who really looked the part in her period dress.

“We’ve had loads of fun with tales of Musketeers and the Scarlett Pimpernel,” said Zaeley, “and a few of our residents loved trying out some of the French language they remembered from school.”

They were bound to include Liberté! Egalité! Fraternité!
