Former teacher, Bill, who lives in our St Catherine’s Nursing home in Newcastle, was top of the class on Teacher Appreciation Day when he delighted fellow residents with readings from his favourite book.
The rainy day outside was soon forgotten as Bill read from the compilation of poems, sparking many happy and humorous school day memories and reminiscences.
“I love this book,” said Bill; “it has so many incredibly amusing poems that I never tire of reading. It really does brighten up the gloomiest of autumn days.”
And the cosy corner Bill created for the poetry readings went down so well, there’s likely to be more poetry corner sessions to while away the winter months.
