September 2011 sees the launch of our second Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year competition. We are anticipating even more teams applying this year, building on the success of last year’s competition, which was won by Solidarity, an all-female team from St. Thomas More Catholic School in Blaydon.
The format for this year remains the same. Teams from years 12 and 13 have to come up with innovative and creative business and fundraising schemes to make an initial investment of £250 seed money grow as much as possible over just six months. Support and guidance is offered by the charity to ensure teams keep focused.
The teams will be invited to an Award Ceremony at the end of the competition where the lucky winning team will be announced and presented with the coveted trophy. Be warned though, girl-power team Solidarity is determined to retain its title!
Schools can enter a maximum of two teams by downloading an entry form, or by contacting Nicola Milne on 0191 242 4809 or email:Â enquiries@stcuthbertscare.org.uk“
Closing date for entries is Friday 30 September 2011.
