When the cast of Tracy Beaker, the popular Newcastle based children’s programme were filming recently, they heard about the work of our 5p Bus: our two buses target areas of greatest need, travelling around the North East selling clothing and other essential items for just five pence each.
Inspired by the work of the 5p Bus, the Tracy Beaker production team contacted us and made the very kind offer of donating the entire wardrobe of costumes from the Tracy Beaker series.
This is an overwhelming gesture and the charity is indebted to the Tracy Beaker team and to the BBC for their generosity. Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the items were snapped up by scores of needy customers.
The 5p Bus project is funded entirely by donated income and relies upon a steady flow of high-quality second-hand clothing, bedding and toys being sent in to us. We are always grateful to receive items, particularly warm clothing at this time of year so if you feel you can help, please contact us on the details below:
Thank you in advance for your support.
