Parish and community initiative gains pace

Our seventh PACE (Parish And Community Enablement) drop-in service has just launched in Sunderland. Held in St Mary’s Parish Hall, 27 Bridge Street, Sunderland, the service offers a safe warm and comfortable cafĂ© environment, for those who are homeless, isolated, living with addiction, or are without an income.

Dozens of generous volunteers have already signed up to serve hot drinks, sandwiches and snacks, as well as providing guests with the opportunity to have a friendly chat in a safe, supportive environment.

In addition, St Cuthbert’s Care’s popular 5p Bus will be stationed nearby, enabling visitors to the drop-in service to buy donated clothing and small household goods for just 5p per item.

The drop-in service is open every Thursday, between 10am-2pm.

If you would like to get involved or for us to help you set up a PACE project in your parish or neighbourhood, please contact Kathleen Urwin by email or by calling: 0191 228 0111.
