Bringing up a family is not always child’s play which is why St Cuthbert’s Care’s Community Services team were asked to give a helping hand at one church in Hartlepool where a support group has been set up dedicated to enabling families to engage and enjoy each other’s company.
Jeremy Cain, who is based at St Cuthbert in Hartlepool, called on the expertise of the St Cuthbert’s Care team to help further the successes of a Family Fun Club set up to offer support to a small group of families in the community.
Following the team’s advice the group were able to recognise and celebrate their many achievements. They will be working with the families to find out their views of the service to date, what they have enjoyed and found useful and inviting them to suggest activities they would like to engage in as family groups. The Community Services team will also be working with the group to help them create an appropriate flyer to illustrate its purposes and aims.
“We were delighted to be able to help Jeremy further the achievements of the Family Fun Club,” said Community Services Manager Kathleen Urwin. “Groups like this can make a huge difference for people who need additional support and guidance to function well as a family and enjoy activities together. We wish Jeremy, his team and the families they work with every success in their future.”
