Staff at our Alan Shearer Short Break Centre have been on the lookout for local fun-packed activities in which guests might like to take part during their stay this summer.
On Thursday 26 July, children can enjoy a trip to the Gateshead Inclusive Fun Day for disabled people at Gateshead International Stadium. The family-friendly activity day will provide our guests with a chance to try new things, play games and have fun.
For adults taking a break at the Centre on 11 August there is an inclusive open air music festival in Chase Park, Whickham. The festival focuses on regional talent, featuring a regional talented line-up; while breaking down barriers associated with disability.
The Centre always aims to provide guests an enjoyable holiday-style break, rather than straight forward respite care. With its convenient location, just a short distance from Newcastle city centre, there is a wide choice of entertainment and activities near at hand and staff are happy to offer any assistance needed to access them.
