Auton homes based in Newcastle took inspiration from the Olympics, holding their own competition for residents in the large landscaped grounds.
The event was organised by a young man from The Lodge, our moving-on facility which prepares former Auton residents for independent living.
Promoting respect, healthy competition and fair play, residents from Auton Villa and Auton Newcastle were invited to take part in a variety of traditional sports such as sprinting and the egg and spoon race. Duelling with water guns added a more modern twist to the day’s events. Staff and older residents acted as referees, impartially judging each of the competitions and awarding the prizes to the winners.
A fun day was had by all, and the staff are incredibly proud of the conduct shown by all participants, supporters and of course the hard work and dedication put in by the young man from the Lodge who organised the event.
