St Catherine’s Activities Co-ordinator, Richard Dobbinson organised a great trip out to Bedlington Station recently, where our residents met up with people from three other homes for the day.
After a singalong and a quiz on the bus, there were refreshments and musical entertainment followed by a buffet lunch. The get-together was arranged in association with the charity ‘Mind Active’, which works with care homes such as St Catherine’s, promoting activities for the elderly aimed at providing mental stimulation and well-being.
A great time was had by all and one of our residents said afterwards “We’ve all had a wonderful day and the volunteers who helped out couldn’t have been better.”
Richard has arranged another visit for our residents in mid-November and has accepted an invitation to a Christmas Party in Bedlington in December.
