There was a packed house at Amaretto’s Italian restaurant in Ashington when Parkhead service users had a night out – raising £100 for funds in the process.
“We didn’t really have a reason for the event; it was just nice to have a get together,” said Parkhead Manager, Nicola Johnson. “The place was full to capacity and there was a really nice atmosphere. Everyone thought the food was lovely.”
The restaurant provided a three course special Valentine meal for the group for £4.95 per head and Parkhead sold single red roses and biscuits, as well as holding a raffle.
“There were 75 people at the event and the service users are keen to do this again,” said Nicola.
Parkhead Day Centre is a partnership between St Cuthbert’s Care and Northumberland Care Trust. It offers stimulating educational activities for adults with learning difficulties and helps improve self-esteem and confidence. Membership requires a referral from the Care Trust.
