Come along and enjoy a cake and a cuppa with our staff and residents at St Catherine’s in Newcastle and at Holy Cross in Sunderland when we mark National Care Home Open Day on Friday, 21 June.
We’re really proud of the quality of care offered by both our homes and the open day is an excellent opportunity to take a look around and see for yourself the great facilities we offer our residents. You’ll have a chance to chat to Managers Pam Jobling and Amanda Head and to our Family Liaison Manager, June Spoors. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about what it’s like living in one of our residential and nursing care homes.
Visitors to St Catherine’s can also sample some entertainment, with vocalist, JJ giving a short performance on the day. Entertainment is regularly on offer at both homes, which each have their own dedicated activity co-ordinator. As well as offering residents lots of things to do, there are also plenty of quiet places in our homes, like our tranquil gardens, peaceful library or relaxing lounges.
June Spoors, Family Liaison Manager said, “It’s often the case that care homes remain a bit of a mystery until people find themselves needing one, so we’re pleased to have this opportunity to show visitors around. Whether you’re looking for somewhere for a relative or loved one, planning for the future or just curious about what it’s like to live in a care home, you’ll be more than welcome.”
The Open Days will be at Holy Cross on Ettrick Grove, Barnes Park, Sunderland between 12 noon and 2pm and at St Catherine’s on West Road, Newcastle from 2pm until 4pm.
If you would like to come along to either event – or both – ring June on 0191 228 8000.
