St Catherine’s residents had one the liveliest afternoons of entertainment they have enjoyed for a long time this week, when local musical drama company The Vintage Scene brought them All Things America.
The company is the creation of TV and theatre actor Dale Meeks, best known for his role as Simon Meredith in Emmerdale. Dale, with partner Danielle, performed song and dance numbers from the big band era of the 1940’s through to the present day and encouraged everyone to join in with any they remembered.
“Vintage Scene are one of the most popular acts we have had at St Catherine’s” says Activities Co-ordinator, Richard Dobinson. “As well as singing along, some residents even got up for a dance. I’ve been told to be sure to invite them back again soon.”
In fact, residents won’t have long to wait. Vintage Scene will be returning in September with a 40’s themed show “We’ll Meet Again”, which is sure to leave everyone wanting more.
