A seven-strong ensemble of strummers have been entertaining residents at St Catherine’s.
The Silver Stars, all-female, ukulele band paid a visit to our residential home in Newcastle to perform a concert of foot tapping sing-along standards. When the ladies, who rehearse at the Sage Gateshead, are not busy teaching ukulele, they use their talents to raise money for charity.
The band’s organiser, Laura, wrote to St Catherine’s Activities Co-ordinator, Richard Dobinson, to thank everyone for inviting them to play. “Thank you … for the warm welcome we received at St Catherine’s.” She said.
Residents are now looking forward to a return visit to the home by the Silver Stars for a Christmas performance.
