Charity cyclists have flown across the country in a super-fast time to raise funds for the Alan Shearer Foundation.
The quartet representing Samson Aviation, the private jet facility at Newcastle Airport which adopted the charity earlier this year, took just over eight hours to pedal from Whitehaven to Tynemouth on Saturday.
Steve Armstrong, Richard Knight, Neil McIntyre and Andy Niven took on the challenge which saw them cycle 126.4 miles in eight hours and 18 seconds – an average of 15.8 miles per hour. The team climbed 9,500 feet during the course and reached 59.9 miles per hour, presumably while coming downhill!
Their endeavours have raised over £1,300 for the Foundation. Congratulations and well done to all involved, and to their supporters.
