Stalwart shop volunteer Jess Errington has closed the till at Holy Cross for the last time as she sets off for a new life abroad.
Jess, who has worked at the home’s little shop for over 30 years is moving to America to live with her daughter and grandchildren.
“It’s very sad to be losing Jess but we all hope she has a lovely time in America,” said Holy Cross Manager, Amanda Head. “She was a fantastic help and worked hard by introducing some great initiatives to help boost profits.”
Amanda added: “Jess is leaving the shop in good hands, though, with our new volunteers, Pat, Iris and Hilda, who have been very busy stocking the place with all the new Christmas goods.”
The festive stock includes snow globes, candles, calendars, nativity sets and ornaments. These piety goods are stocked alongside nifty knick-knacks and regular items such as sweets, toiletries and cards of all occasions which are picked up by residents, staff and visitors at the home.
We all wish Jess bon voyage and good luck in her new home in the US.
