The benefits provided to the local community by Sunderland Open House and the significant difference it has made to those in desperate need have been acknowledged during a visit by a local community support officer.
When PC Stringer popped in to visit guests and volunteers at the drop-in café, he had nothing but praise for the work being carried out by the volunteers running the project.
“I’ve often seen the people here in a very different light as they can lead chaotic and boisterous lives on the street,” commented PC Stringer. “Everyone is doing a wonderful job here and Open House definitely seems to have a remarkable calming and relaxing effect on those who come along.”
