Residents at St Catherine’s are set for an entertaining November with an appearance by TV competition winner and jazz vocalist, Brenda Sokell.
The so-called singing pensioner won the contest on the Alan Titchmarsh Show to record a single of the classic song White Christmas with the Chelsea Pensioners and is now ready to entertain our residents. Brenda will be appearing at St Catherine’s on Thursday 21 November when she will be performing tunes from the Great American Songbook and some jazz standards.
Brenda’s performance is part of this month’s packed entertainment programme at the home which includes a return performance by Chromatic Dave and his harmonica on November 16 alongside the regular tai chi sessions with Wendy on Thursdays.
On Friday 29 November residents will have the opportunity to have a go at some arts and crafts before the month ends with a Christmas Fayre on Saturday 30.
Activities co-ordinator Richard Dobinson is busy organising raffles, stalls and gifts for the fayre and would be pleased to receive any donations of bottles, cakes and prizes for the event.
