And the band played on …

The Salvation Army have marched into Holy Cross to play a rousing welcome for the New Year.

A dozen members of the brass band, dressed in impeccable uniforms, paid one of their regular visits to our Sunderland care home to entertain residents with “Sally Army” standards.

“It was fabulous. The residents loved it,” said Holy Cross manager, Amanda Head.

Residents gathered in the home’s recreation room listen to the band and enjoyed a cup of tea and a biscuit.

This Saturday, 1 February, vocalist Carol Lee will be singing at Holy Cross to celebrate National Dignity in Care Day. Residents, friends and family are invited to come together for a cream tea and a chat from 2pm.
