Spring is hotting up for residents at St Catherine’s with a series of visits by entertainers and trips out planned for March.
The Semitones, a Polish band, has been booked to perform next month along with magician Allen Cutler, who apparently does amazing things with balloons, and, at the end of March, the popular singing duo Jiva will be returning to the nursing home to help celebrate Mothers’ Day.
“I’m planning a residents’ trip to the City Hall to go to a musical show called ‘Bless ’em All’ on 19th March,” said Activity Coordinator, Richard Dobinson. “Everyone had a great time at the same production company’s show ‘We’ll Meet Again’ at Sunderland last year.”
Richard is also currently planning events and an exhibition commemorating the centenary of the First World War to be held later in the year and is appealing for the loan of memorabilia from the era to display at the home.
