Residents at our Newcastle care home are set for parties galore with seven residents, all aged over 80, celebrating a July birthday!
A busy month for St Catherine’s activities coordinator, Richard Dobinson, begins today, 3 July, with activity assistant, Jack Kilday’s 19th birthday and ends with resident George Graham’s 99th birthday on 27 July.
“There’s another reason to push the boat out for Jack,” said Richard. “As well as being his birthday he’s just finishing his two year apprenticeship.”
There’s also a double celebration for Agnes and Tom Armstrong, a married couple who live at St Catherine’s, whose July birthdays are within four days of each other in the same year. The couple have known one another since they were ten years old.
Richard has planned some special events for the home’s residents this month and no doubt there will be a few slices of birthday cake to share out.
Many happy returns to everyone!
