Just back from playing in Ireland acoustic duo, Jiva, has been entertaining our St Catherine’s residents.
The couple, Jimmy and Val, made a welcome return visit to our care home this month and regaled residents with tales from abroad and renditions of some of their own compositions accompanied on their guitars, ukuleles and mouthorgan.
“Jiva are very talented and provide a gentle kind of musical entertainment for residents as a nice alternative to some of the other singing performances we have here,” said activities coordinator, Richard Dobinson.
On the events schedule this week, as well as bingo and songs of praise sessions, is a quiz evening on Wednesday and a return by visiting tai chi practitioner, Wendy Chin. If the weather stays fine, and minibus transport is available, Richard is planning a trip to the coast for residents.
