An erudite afternoon of badinage, intellectual jousting and refinement features on St Catherine’s social calendar this week.
The care home’s activities coordinator, Richard Dobinson, has organised an afternoon entitled “Cake and Culture” for residents who are invited to take part in a local culture quiz and discuss social changes and developments in the region in the since the 1940s.
“There will be some reminiscences about times gone by and a quiz about the Geordie society with refreshments of cake and tea, hopefully served in China cups and saucers,” said Richard.
The event is being held at our Newcastle care home in recognition of international respect for older people’s day on Wednesday.
