Clothing from our 5p Bus has helped a woman from Stockton in her search for employment.
Struggling to make ends meet, Natalie had relied heavily on our 5p Bus to clothe herself and her family while she searched for a job. So, when an interview opportunity finally arrived, our 5p Bus was her first port of call as she prepared to make a good impression at her potential workplace.
“I couldn’t afford the kind of clothing I needed to present myself well at an interview, but I knew the 5p Bus would come to my rescue, “ said Natalie. “Sure enough, I found the items I needed, wore them to the interview – and got the job!”
Natalie says she’ll always be grateful for the support of the 5p Bus and has convinced her new employers – Stockton-based funeral directors, Thomas Rae – to support the work it does, too.
During our latest visit to Stockton, Natalie carried out her job of working in the local community for the first time by presenting our 5p Bus driver with donations of books, toys and clothing.
“The bus helped me and my daughter for quite a few months,” added Natalie, “so I’m really happy that I can give back now that I’m working.”
