It may be autumn outside but at our Holy Cross nursing home in Sunderland everything is coming up roses.
Residents at the home set to work with some silk and artificial flowers, fancy pots and some florists’ foam to try a spot of flower arranging. In the process they came up with an array of floral tributes to bring a splash of colour into any drab day.
“Although I don’t think any of us will win any prizes for our finished displays I think we did quite well and the results were rather good,” said Holy Cross activities coordinator, Clare Quinn.
To help brighten up the darkening days next week Clare has organised a return visit by the Majorettes female singing group who dress in uniform and will be performing their wartime cabaret and singalong at 6pm on Wednesday.
