The wonder of Elvis has been rocking Parkhead day centre users.
Hosted at St Aidan’s church in Ashington the social event attracted over 120 guests who joined in with the amazing performance by Mike Memphis, an Elvis Presley tribute act.
The Ashington centre organised the November bash and invited their St Cuthbert’s Care “relations” from our Alnwick residential home to rock ‘n’ roll over to enjoy the fun.
“Bailiffgate residents certainly know how to have a good time – they were the life and soul of the party,” said Parkhead manager, Nicola Johnson. “I’d say a party doesn’t start until Bailiffgate get there!”
Guests took the opportunity to adorn themselves in Elvis temporary tattoos, buy Elvis keyrings made by Parkhead service users and dance the night away. A fabulous buffet was laid on with the help of day centre members, Claire Patterson and Michelle Baxter.
“Viva Las Parkhead! Elvis and his pelvis were great and his stage presence was amazing. Super night. Big thanks to everyone,” the Flanders family commented afterwards.
