Last night the Foundation was presented with a cheque for £1,000 by the Killingworth Social Club. One of the Social Club members Billy Taylor had recently visited the Alan Shearer Centre, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Billy had said that he was blown away by the Centre facilities and support it provides for disabled children and adults across the North East. Because of this visit Billy then suggested that the Social Club got involved to support the local cause.
The Social Club was in merry Christmas spirits last night as we interrupted their bingo session for a few moments to have a cheque hand over presentation. St Cuthbert’s Care Fundraising Manager Nicola Milne gave a brief talk about the Centre facilities to all those there at the Club. We then even had the chance to sell a few of our Car Raffle tickets as well!
