Holy Cross: A little horse after carol singing

Residents at our Sunderland care home had a seasonal surprise visit when a team of pint-size ponies paid a visit.

A real life “My Little Pony” turned up early in the Holy Cross stocking this year when KL Pony Therapy made a return trip to the home. The tiny, two-and-a-bit-feet-tall horses wearing festive coats and with golden, glittery hooves met residents as part of the home’s programme of events which has so far included a visit by St Anthony’s school choir, a session making orange and clove Christmas pomanders and a panto performance of Cinderella.

“It was a wonderful treat for the residents,” said the home’s activities coordinator, Clare Quinn. “The residents always love seeing the ponies so we have already booked them for next Christmas.”

Holy Cross has more carol concerts lined up for this week and have their Christmas party scheduled for this Thursday, 18 December.
