The spirit of Christmas has been abroad in Ashington when our day centre members were offered free transport to their party in Morpeth.
Santa’s little helpers from GB Travel, Ashington, kindly provided the coach transport free of charge for Parkhead after they were impressed by the day centre users and enjoyed driving them so much last year!
The group of adults with learning disabilities were taken on the trip to the Riverside Lodge in Morpeth week for a three course Christmas lunch followed by a disco.
Parkhead manager Nicola Johnson said: “We are very grateful to GB Travel for giving us this gift of free transport. The service users had a great time and the event was expertly organised by senior support worker, Claire Graham.”
The Ashington resource centre is holding its Christmas fair this Friday, 19 December when there will be craft and cake stalls, hot turkey and stuffing sandwiches on sale and visiting donkeys on show.
