Residents at St Catherine’s have been enjoying a live performance of some super smooth, classic songs as the new 2015 season of events gets underway at the home.
While the wind raged outside Dale Meeks, from the Vintage Scene Academy, sang his velvety versions of favourites such as Dancing Cheek to Cheek and New York, New York.
Multi-talented Dale who, among other TV roles, is best known for playing Simon Meredith in Emmerdale, also sang The Way You Look Tonight in two styles, demonstrating the contrasting approaches of Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.
Dale and fellow artiste at Vintage Scene, Janine Leigh, previously appeared at our Newcastle care home last month when they performed a double-hander adaptation of panto, Aladdin, for residents.
St Catherine’s activities coordinator, Richard Dobinson, said: “The residents really enjoy the variety of Vintage Scene performances. I’m now talking about the possibility of us visiting their organised tea dances at the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle later in the year.”
