Dreamy mood music delights residents

A choral group from Gosforth has been delighting St Catherine’s residents with some enchanting classic tunes.

A dozen ladies from the Tuesday Club choir visited our Newcastle care home this week to sing a cappella versions of songs including Mr Sandman, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head and Dream, Dream, Dream.

Conducting the choir was Jackie Deans, the daughter of St Catherine’s resident, Sheila Duffy. Talented Jackie, who also plays the harp, offered the performance by the Tuesday Club, which comprises 45 members and also has a children’s section.

“The choir sang beautifully. It was a lovely treat for the residents,” said Richard Dobinson, the home’s Activities Coordinator. “Jackie says the choir will come back to sing for us for our VE Day commemorations in May. They say they will go off and start rehearsing the songs now.”
