St Catherine’s residents welcomed a Royale visit heralding the start of an Easter festival of musical entertainment at the home.
Singer, Kevin Royale, returned to our Newcastle home to perform a repertoire of popular ’50s and ’60s numbers ranging from the Patsy Cline classic, Crazy, to Bill Haley’s Shake, Rattle and Roll – with some Elvis and Fats Domino thrown in for good measure.
Featuring at St Catherine’s this week is the Andy Kain Duo, musicians who proved extremely popular at our Holy Cross nursing home in Sunderland when they performed there in February. The pair play in health care settings as part of the Music in Hospitals national charity and are set to entertain at St Catherine’s on Thursday 2 April.
On the bill for Easter week is husband and wife team Jim and Val, Jiva who make a welcome return visit on Tuesday followed by another acoustic duo on Thursday, Fools Gold. FG play folk music and “have a wide repertoire of songs that residents will know and relate to.”
St Catherine’s Activities Coordinator, Richard Dobinson, says that families and friends are very welcome to attend any of the events and entertainment provided at the home.
